$10 may sound like much but in reality that is the price of a movie ticket or cheeseburger meal. And you can't replay through those experiences. For the die-hard fans out there it shouldn't be an issue.Buy or don't. I enjoy ME enough that I can splurge a bit on the last game. If they planned out 9 more games with this occurring at release then I would care but not this time on the final ME.

You will find the DLC under 'Extra Content'. If you own it already, it should be in your Origin game library. Face down a new villain before catching up with old friends from Mass Effect 1 and 2. Groundbreaking interactive storytelling drives the heart-pounding action in which each decision you make could have devastating and deadly consequences. Commander Shepard and the Normandy crew get a much deserved break, but their shore leave is short lived. The award-winning Mass Effect 3 game Mass Effect 3 plunges you into an all-out galactic war to take Earth back from a nearly unstoppable foeand how you fight that war is entirely up to you.

Part 2 is required to play and is available at no additional cost. I wouldn't have cared personally about shoveling out $10 for DLC. For me the Mass Effect 3 is available in the Origin store as well as in the Origin game library. Mass Effect 3: Citadel (1 of 2) NOTE: This is part 1 of 2. This character + mission is only a 1-3 hour experience at best so it isn't on par with some DLC for Skyrim (which is more like an expansion pack than anything). I won't even get into this DLC on Day 1 because I'll be so busy with setting things up and getting my old squad back together. At the end of next week this won't even be an issue to most gamers who will be too involved with the main game to even care. Wait for the DLC to go on sale if you have such an issue with it or buy ME3 used to counter-act that price point. I didn't purchase Kasumi or LOTSB until they were on sale at a LATER point after they released. It's a slippery slope if that starts to become the norm. While logically you could argue it shouldn't make any difference, essentially the situation is that if you want to own all key content at launch, you have to pay $70 rather than 60. It's effectively a business strategy that relies on the committment of fans who don't want to miss out on story and exposition. Every fan of that game can't wait for the first expansion pack - but what if Bethesda had actually offered an expansion DLC at launch, for an additional $15? Psychologically, it would have seemed like extortion rather than a 'bonus'. This feels incredibly different psychologically. However, the problem with 'From Ashes' is that it's available right away - but only if you're willing to shell out extra money. It was a welcome extra for fans who had completed the game and wanted more content.

Surely the difference is that it's a day one DLC rather than a later add-on? Shadow Broker worked because it came further down the line to expand the saga and act as a 'bridge' in narrative. Like Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3 also had some free or paid small DLC sets that included weapons, armor, or promotional crossovers.
